SEG Building Services are delighted to have been appointed as main contractor for the forthcoming development at Rainbow View, Parkers Way, Totnes on behalf of their client Leading Homes.
The existing building opened as a care home 50 years ago and was purchased by Devon County Council in the 1990s and operated as offices for the children’s services until December 2014.
The original name of the site ‘Parkers Barn’ was named after a barn that was a mile to the south on the River Dart that existed until around 1940. Ironically it was the same shape as the proposed development! The building is one of the highest-placed structures in the town affording great views as a result. The proposal is to convert the building to affordable 30 flats covering a total of 16,000 sq. feet or 1,486 sq. metres.
SEG Building Services are a local South Devon building company who will be the main contractor for the development. Local trades and contractors are encouraged to apply for tender packages if interested.
A ground-breaking ceremony is planned for 11am on Wednesday 13th March 2019 and is open to all interested parties.
